Luxury handmade Irish tweed backed cushion

Description

This design brings the theme of the old farmhouse Christine lives in, the Irish tea drinking tradition! and the drama of the Kerry landscape together. It depicts Christine’s grandmother’s fine china teacups that her grandmother received as a wedding present against the backdrop of the wild Atlantic coast of Kerry. The image was photographed by Christine on a boat coming back from Sceilig Mhichil. You can make out the outline of Sceilig Mhichil in the backgound. The cups make a spiral pattern and the design is a play on the storm in a teacup theme -I called it “Brewing up a storm on the wild Atlantic Way”. The backing is made from purple tweed with a salt and pepper fleck from the local Kerry Woolen Mills.
